But the Caliph's young son, Ali, fled and was adopted by Old Baba, chief of a band of thieves. The outlaws raised Ali and now that he ia a man he has become their leader. Ali's mortal enemy is Prince Cassim who betrayed his father to the Kahn for greed and position. Paradoxically, as a child Ali had pledged himself for life to Cassim's daughter, Amara. When he learns that Amara is to be married to the Kahn, Ali leads his thieves in an attack on the Mongols to free his sweetheart and regain his rightful place on the throne».
