Benson Company for the Co-operative Cinematograph Company (and the only one to survive), this primitive but compelling production makes no pretensions to be anything other than a record of the stage play, and as such takes us directly back to the theatre of 1911, though as with others of these silent Shakespeare films we seem nearer to the theatre of Shakespeare's day than that of our own.
