Plot Summary, Synopsis, Review: IMDb - - - - - - - - - - - «In magical faraway kingdom live a King and Queen and their loyal subjects. One day, the King leaves on business, while the Queen laments her inability to have a child. Wandering through her kingdom, the Queen stumbles upon a Wicked Fairy, who tricks her into accepting a magic potion which will grant her fertility. What the Queen does not know is that any child borne under this spell will be Evil! Luckily, a Magic Frog intervenes, begging the Queen to destroy the potion. The Queen obeys, and purifies herself in the lake of the 12 Good Fairies. The King returns to find the Queen pregnant. Soon, the Queen gives birth to a beautiful baby girl, whom they dub Briar Rose. An immense banquet is thrown for the child's christening, and the 12 Good Fairies are invited. The Wicked Fairy also shows up, demanding to be included. When the King orders her killed, the Wicked Fairy puts a curse on Briar Rose: when the poor child reaches the age of 16, she will prick her finger on a poisoned spindle, and die! What's more, the kingdom will fall to ruin! The Good Fairies intervene, and counter the Wicked Fairy's spell; although they cannot erase it entirely, they modify it so that Briar Rose will not die upon injecting the poison, but will instead fall asleep for 100 years, along with everyone else in the kingdom. After 100 years, the spell will be broken. Time passes...».
