Plot Summary, Synopsis, Review: IMDb - allmovie.com - taliesinttlg.blogspot.it - facebook.com - diaboliquemagazine.com - mondosquallido.blogspot.de - docterror.com - cinesploitation.com: «Jason and Ralph are two worm farmers out on their farm in the middle of the Death Valley desert, bored out their mind, when they notice two guys burying a large box. After the guys leave, the two uncover the box to find a gorgeous blonde girl buried alive. They take her back to their house to alert the authorities when they are accosted and kidnapped by a group of armed women looking for their friend. The women take Jason and Ralph back to their cult hideout to decide what to do with them. A vote is taken and it is decided that the men will help the cult steal back a bag full of platinum from the Mob, the same guys who buried the bodacious blonde. The guys are made members of the group, which doesn’t sit well with some of the members, but they are outnumbered. Mike Cartel was only known to me before seeing Runaway Nightmare - his only time in the director’s chair - by being in the Raphael Nussbaum classic Pets (1974) as Bonnie’s brother. He has written, been a second unit director, and acted in a few obscure films and even had a bit part in the Six Million Dollar Man television series in the mid-70s. Runaway Nightmare is a very strange made-for-TV-like movie that is mostly frustrating and boring. The plot sounds pretty salacious with gorgeous women (some with some very big, bouncy b00bs) kidnapping two men… the potential is endless. But what we get mostly is bizarre drama with some action sequences in the last thirty minutes to keep you from drifting off to sleep. The rather jarring last two minutes come from nowhere and would have made a much better movie if it was an indication of the film’s entirety. ...».
