Deciderà poi invece di ingaggiare una vecchia star del cinema horror che fu (Richard Hale) per piazzarlo in un clima da teenager al cimitero! La star accetta di buon grado, convinto di poter rilanciare la sua carriera: si traveste da vampiro e le riprese cominciano... Ottima la descrizione sintetizzata della nascita di un film con sceneggiatore, regista e produttore che interagiscono con il cast, e suggestiva l'ambientazione funerea ricostruita negli studios. Purtroppo a un'ottima prima parte (che denota una notevole conoscenza dell'ambiente) e una seconda che sorprende, fa seguito un finale deludente. Ottimo Hale nel ruolo del Karloff (o Lugosi, se preferite) di turno. Agli amanti della vecchia Hollywood dovrebbe piacere...» (Zender).

He gets a part in a low-budget vampire movie. He is proud of his performance, but is shocked when he sees the film and discovers that his voice has been redubbed. Fred Logan, the films writer, visits Ernst and offers his condolences. Later on a soundstage, however, he finds the bodies of the films producer Hal Ballew and the film's director Morty Lenton. The necks of each have been punctioned as if they were bitten by a vampire. On a catwalk high above the soundstage Ernst appears wearing his vampire cape. He falls from the catwalk and plunges to his death on the soundstage floor».
